Tarpel Tunnel Syndrome

Went to the podarist today. Good move, I'm having problems with my Tarpel Tunnel.

He gave me 3 choices:

Antiinflammatories
Cortisone shot
Boot.

I picked the boot, which was also his suggestion. I can wear this thing all the time, including sleeping unless I'm doing treadmill or dog agility running, and hopefully nip this in the bud, without affecting my blood sugar too much -- all will elevate, including the boot as it forces some inactivity, but is the least invasive.

Am to see him again in a month.

Comments

I have had Tarpal Tunnel for 4 months,I am in a boot, and the pain is terrible, like needles pricking into my heel all the time, the boot makes my left hip pain as I am lopped sided for a while,Podarist says if it doesn't get better they will ahve to go in and clip the nerve that is causing the problem.

Yes,Iwas diagnosed with tarpal tunnel in my left foot.Iwas told surgery was the answer.I'll probably have surgery in july

I had tarpal tunnel syndrome and have had the surgery..I now have a scar about 4 inches long by my ankle. The surgery is not bad but the pain from the nerve regenerating can be severe. It is better than not being able to walk or to tell if your foot is cold. The surgery was almost 4weeks ago and the nerve is mending. The pain can be severe at times, mostly at night for some reason.I also had a bunion removed from the same foot at the same time.I believe this is why the tarpal syndrome came about.I am off work, can put no weight on my foot until 6 weeks or more have passed.I wear a boot when I go out but only to protect the foot.I advise you to have the surgery, the longer you wait I believe the longer it will take for the nerve to heal.
