What I like about the new pump
It is really smoothing out my blood sugar.
On shots, my blood sugar was like this:
|||||| ||||| |||||| |||||
|||||| ||||| |||||| |||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
On the IR1000 it was more like this:
|||||| ||||| |||||| |||||
|||||| ||||| |||||| |||||
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
So far on the IR1250 it is more like this:
|||||| ||||| |||||| |||||
---||||||-----||||||-----||||||-----||||||-----
Much easier so far on the body and brain. I don't know if I am unique or not, but I am extremely sensitive to glucose -- for years before diagnosis I wouldn't touch drinks with sugar or stuff with fast sugar because I would feel it. I'm REALLY bad now. If my blood sugar is much over 115 these days in the morning, I have trouble waking up and am cranky.
I've said this before but I have trouble craving the wrong kinds of food when my blood sugar is too high. And I feel bad. I have trouble with higher order thinking skills like computer programming WHICH I teach, so I really know when that isn't working. And I just want to sleep.
My energy level has been noticeably higher today and I was actually cheerful. I doubt the pump will help tomorrow morning, I also have trouble sleeping after dog class.
But it is making a difference. I believe the reasons why are because I am checking my blood sugar more often, since it buzzes me until I check it, and that I can make a reliable correction due to the IOB.
I love it! Even more than the old one.
Also I was told I looked thinner today and I think it is because it lays closer to my body (it's slightly curved), and isn't as big as the old pump.
